What is HID?

HID is short for High Intensity Discharge. Automotive HID light use the same technology found in most street lights and has been in use for decades. The modern automotive xenon bulb uses a small glass tube containing a precise blend of compressed gases including Xenon. It is ignited using a special ballast blasting out over 20,000 volts of energy to create a brilliant, bright lights available in a variety of colors.
